I run a number of different class options in North West London and Hertfordshire (mainly Park Street, Radlett & St Albans). These consist of:-

Yoga for Stroke Survivors – Stroke Association @ Asda, Watford
These classes are specifically designed to aid stroke survivors in their long-term rehabilitation.
Physical exercises focus on targeted issues such as balance, stretching, strengthening and co-ordination. Anxiety, breathing problems and speech are addressed through breath-work, sound and relaxation techniques.

Yoga for Cancer @ Chai Cancer Care, Hendon, NW4 1EH
Tuesday and Wednesday 10.30am – 12.00 noon
Cancer can wreak havoc on the body, the mind and the emotions.
Therefore, these restorative classes are based around using yoga to gently move the body, calm the mind and help cope with stress and anxiety. We work with therapeutic postures and sequences supported by the breath to address any particular issues that an individual may be experiencing thereby creating a supportive and nourishing environment.
Often sessions will begin and end with a relaxation session.

Women Only Yoga Classes @ Park Street Village Hall, AL2 2PX
Wednesday 19.00-20.00 pm and Friday 9.30-10.30 am
Wednesday – £10 per session drop in rate – discounts available for monthly block bookings. Must be booked in advance.
Friday – rolling monthly payment – to be paid at the beginning of the month (£8.00 per class).
These sessions are for women only and will include work on strengthening and stabilizing; releasing and mobilizing. Depending on how the group is feeling, and whether it is a morning or evening class, the session may be more physically challenging or gentler and more restorative.
Often the class will conclude with a guided relaxation and meditation or elements of other holistic practices.

Chair yoga is a general term for a session where yoga poses are modified, so that they can be done either seated or standing. Using the chair for support ensures a safe but challenging practice, thus yoga becomes accessible to people who may not be able to stand for long, may have balance issues, or lack the mobility to move easily from standing to lying to seated.
However, participants can still expect to enjoy all the health benefits of yoga, such as stretching, improved muscle tone, better breathing habits, meditation, etc.
